Wall e: The super-est robot ever!!!

July 1st, 2008

Not since Rosie from the Jetson’s has there been a robot so cool! In fact… I’ll go so far to say that Wall e beats Rosie hands down! Yea… I’m talking about the new Pixar movie Wall e. I went to see it with some friends… no kids… just four 20-somethings with child-like hearts.

There were kids giggling, lots of awwwww’s, and some watery eyes. It’s a movie that will tug on your heart and make you think too. Without giving much away, there’s definitely a ‘social’ commentary going on in this movie that will make some adults think, while the kids get to giggle at the on screen antics.

Oh… just so you know… one of the things I cannot stand about some of the recent animated films is the nasty ‘over the head’ jokes intended for adults to get and laugh at but the kids typically miss. Now… unless I totally missed them I didn’t hear any dirty jokes or comments made.

All in all Wall e is a super cute movie and I’d recommend it hands down. In fact, I want to find Wall e and be his friend. Forget Eve. Ha!

Trying to save money?

June 23rd, 2008

Seems like our dollar is taxed more everywhere we turn. We hear about the dollar losing it’s value and how we’ll be paying a gah-gillion bucks for a gallon of gas soon.

The good news is… there ARE deals out here to be had. I do a lot of my shopping online because I typically know what I want and where I want to buy it from. Not to mention I’m a busy girl so if I can go to 5 stores in 5 minutes I’m game.

One thing I try to do though is find coupon codes online. One site I love because visitors are encouraged to post codes there too is: Click here.

If you buy stuff online hopefully that’ll help! There are offline coupons there too! :)

If you have a site you grab coupons for or money saving ideas please, by all means, post away! :)

Help me out here…

The word ‘family’ has come up a lot lately on the news, at work, even within my conversations with friends and… well… family.

I’m interested in your thoughts. It could be a phrase, one word, or a short paragraph… but… what does ‘family’ mean to you?

A song to get behind…

June 16th, 2008

Britt Nicole — Believe

Ok… seriously! Not sure about you but this song pumps me up! When it comes on and I’m in my car I am SO that person that you look over and see rockin’ out by themselves… (and yes pulling out the air guitar and drumming on the steering wheel!)

The message is so intense and the video gives such a great message too! Feel free to leave a comment about the song in the comment section… how it makes you feel or the message you get from it!

Check it out…

Lyrics:
Wait, wait, wait, there’s somethin’ that I gotta say
It’ll take, take, take, just a minute so don’t walk away
I search in circles for a remedy
To fight the poison that is killing me
It’s like I’m falling fast head over feet
Is anybody listening?

[CHORUS]
I wanna believe
I wanna believe in love again
I wanna believe
I wanna believe in love again
Tired of living this way, tired of everyday
So will you help me
I wanna breakthrough
I wanna believe in you

Hey, hey, hey, why is everyday the same for me?
Fake, fake, fake, just pretend what I’m suppose to be
I need an answer for my remedy
I need a Savior ’cause I’m in too deep
I reach up,
Will You reach down here to me?

[CHORUS]

You found me, You were looking for me
You found me, You were looking for me
You found me, You were waiting for me
I can see Your love
You found me, You were waiting for me
I can see Your love

I believe in You, I believe in You, I believe in You
I believe in You, I believe in You, I believe in You

[CHORUS x2]

Seriously…

In Memory of Maria Sue Chapman…

May 22nd, 2008

It was seriously just yesterday I was talking about Steven Curtis Chapman’s song Cinderella and about how sweet his family is and how he and his wife Mary Beth bring out their three youngest adopted daughters to shows and they wear their little dresses running out on stage.

It’s heartbreaking to tell you today that yesterday afternoon, Maria (their 5 y.o.) was hit in their driveway and passed away after being LifeFlighted to the hospital. It’s a tradegic accident… 10 days before her birthday and hours before they were going to celebrate Caleb’s graduation.

Please pray for the family as well. It was an accident… truly. One of the of the boys in the family was in the SUV that struck her so I cannot begin to feel what he may be feeling, and Steven and Mary Beth… I can’t imagine the lose of a child. Please… send them your love and prayers.

Good to be back!

So… I wasn’t like ‘gone’ to Guatemala like Jerrod. But after we got back from our KDUV FM Family Weekend at Hume Lake. I took Monday and Tuesday off to hang out with Mom before she went back to the frigid state of Ohio. (Well frigid compared to our 80-90’s here—seriously what’s that about?!)

For the most part we just hung out, watched some movies, joked about some fun memories and had a looooooot of quality time. Quality time happens to be my #1 love language so that rocked. Not sure what Mom’s is… but I bet its Q.T. or gift giving (she is a giver!).

What was fun though was sorta faking her out about her Mother’s Day present. I ended up stringing it out to Monday and subtly ending up at the new massage place in Visalia called Massage Envy. It’s in the Kohl’s shopping center so I went and wasted time walking around Kohl’s and Ross then strolled over. HA ha! :-) She loved it so it was great!

Anyway… I won’t bore you with all the details but here’s a pic of us up at Hume Lake one night with a group on the dock::

lol… I couldn’t help myself!

Joe and Shannon had a fun blog yesterday about People magazine and how celebs and what not were shedding their make-up to show their ‘true self’ to the camera.

Both Joe and Shannon posted there pics. (Click here to see the blog and pics.)

HOWEVER… Shannon’s… ok… super cute and there’s even a teddy bear in the background. Joe on the other hand… well… ummm… first off I don’t think Joe ever wears make up and this is what he looks like on a daily basis (hair for real) BUT did you have to be all droopy for the pic Joe? I mean… seriously? LOL!

A little fun brought to you by photoshop:

The things we go through…

May 8th, 2008

Yesterday I needed blush. Yea, I know… makeup… whatever. I don’t wear a ton of the stuff and I keep the stuff way longer than I need to.

So… I had picked Mom up at the airport, fed her, drove her back to Visalia (ha sounds like she’s my kid) and headed to target to get a few things… including the blush.

Ummmm yea… there are like 50 bagillion different types of blush. I think it took 15min for me to decide between light icy frosting and pink shimmer. Then I saw one that was in between both and sorta went with the ‘best of both worlds’ way of thinking.

Seriously who names this stuff?!

Cinnamon Glaze
Plum Delight
Raspberry Soufflé

Peach Melba

…am I grabbing desert or putting this stuff on my cheeks!?

Seriously…  attention  make-up naming companies::: FEED the lady you have naming these products some sugar before you send her into the labeling room!!!
